Winter in Glen Coe
The River Coe tumbles through Glen Coe and on its journey forms a number of beautiful waterfalls. I made a sketch of this fall close to the famous Clachaig Inn on a cold January day. The clouds where playing over the Aonach Eagach ridge and there was a promise of sunshine in the distance. I wanted to convey the beautiful winter light and the power of the water falling over the rocks.

West Coast Dreaming
I visit the West Coast of Scotland as often as I can , making sketches, taking photographs a and just immersing myself in the wild places I love. When I am back in the studio I relive these experiences through my painting. I hope when you look at this oil painting you can feel the calm of a beautiful autumn evening by the sea .

Time to feel not think
This painting is part of a series which try to capture the emotions aroused by special places. The places which put us in our place, force us to stop and feel the heart beat of the world around. Feeling my place
The third in a series of paintings exploring those special places where you feel you can breath a little deeper , sense your place in the world and let everyday worries and cares fall away. I climbed Ben Hiant on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula on a cold November day , as I gained height an expansive view of Loch Sunart opened up , light played across the land and water and I knew I had to capture this moment. This large oil painting is my response to that experience .
